Martell Foundation is the music industry’s leading foundation funding high risk, high reward medical research focused on finding trailblazing advancements in early detection, screening, and treatments for cancer. They have raised more than $300 million in support of medical research grants at leading institutions across the United States. This initial funding has allowed researchers to leverage over $1 billion in additional grants from the NIH and other major institutions to bring treatments to clinical trials.
The V Foundation for Cancer Research, founded by ESPN & Hall of Fame basketball coach Jim Valvano, has a singular mission: to achieve Victory Over Cancer® Since its inception in 1993, the V Foundation has allocated over $458 million in grants for cancer research across the nation, solidifying its position as a leading advocate for cutting-edge cancer research. 100% of all direct donations are given directly to groundbreaking research, as an endowment covers administrative expenses.
Forgotten Not Gone is a 501(c)(3) Veteran For Purpose Organization dedicated to Stomping Out Veteran Suicide! Feeling Alone, Forgotten and Abandoned causes Too Many Veterans to take their own lives daily in the United States. They proactively engage Suicide Prevention through Emotional, Physical and Spiritual Health within a Veteran Peer Support environment. #FNG inspires our military community who were not lost at war but Forgotten at Home to make a decision to live again.
As the nation’s leading provider of live music in hospitals, Musicians On Call volunteers have performed for more than one million individuals in healthcare facilities nationwide. For more than two decades they have seen the undeniable physical, mental and emotional benefits of music on hospital patients. With over 36 million people hospitalized annually, MOC is on a mission to reach millions more.
Serving San Luis Obispo County, must! makes investments that address the most critical needs in the community, from youth mentorship to poverty to hunger. They identify the most pressing needs, vet organizations that are serving those needs, then invest in their infrastructure so they are well-positioned to create positive, measurable change for years to come.
New Life K9s provides service dogs to Veterans and First Responders with PTSD at no cost to them. Their mission is to improve the lives of those who have served our country and communities by providing highly trained service dogs, so they may lead more independent and fulfilling lives. They also aim to create a community of support for these heroes and their families.
